My great great grandfather, David Daniel Burden was born 25 March 1816 in Launcels, Jacobstow parish, Cornwall to Ann (Cornish) and John Burden. Launcels is 54 km NW of Plymouth, Cornwall, and 41 km SW of Barnstaple, Devonshire. He married on 24 February 1842 in Bradworthy, Devonshire, 12 km NE of Launcels. Sometime shortly after their marriage they left for the US, arriving in time to have their eldest known child to be forn in New York in December 1842.

In the records, he is usually refered to as Daniel. In as much as the Burdens are know to have been involved in church building, I suspect he was some kind of carpenter by trade. He is buried in Hendricks County, Indiana.
