My great-great grandmother Nancy Rabourn was born 10 December 1817 somewhere in Kentucky surely to Mary "Polly" (Turner) and William Rabourn. A couple of sources mistakenly say she was born of other folk. She married George Clancy Ruggles in Lewis County, Kentucky on 22 October 1837. Some secondary sources give an earlier date. She died near Lewis in Vigo County, Indiana on 20 June 1887. Like her husband, is buried there in the Ruggles cemetery.

Her family name has been spelled many different ways, such as: Raburn, Rayburn, Reyburn, and several more.

Throughout her adult life Nancy kept busy bearing and raising at least a dozen children. For details see her marriage page.
