Algona Street is the second street which crosses Main Street as you come into Arlington from the east.

Dad's first store, the Home Mercantile, was at the intersection of Main and Algona, in the southeast corner.

My parents were living on Algona in 1937 when I was born, in the old Eaton House situated in first block away from Main, 2nd house on the right. Before I was 1 year old, we moved farther south on Algona to the second block away from Main, last house on the right.

When we returned from Missouri dad and mom purchased the house on the left side in the middle of that second block away from Main. It was then 312 Algona. My parents lived there until after their retirement when they moved to Massachusetts.
